In the UK, the passing of the Coronavirus Act 2020 now allows people to attend, speak, and vote, in local government meetings without actually being there.

EU Foreign Ministers have already met via video conference, and the G20 leaders have done the same.

Trafford Council have changed their decision making arrangements, and all Committee applications are determined by the Head of Planning, Committee Chairman and Vice-Chairman using video conferencing facilities.

Jersey already benefits from a full-fibre broadband network - could this be the start of new ways of working for our Planning Committee and help maintain an element of ‘business as usual’ to support economic activity once we emerge from these difficult times?
