MS Planning were engaged by our client to replace two agricultural farm buildings with a new 3 bedroom dwelling set within a commercial farm site, located in the Green Zone.
Our expertise in dealing with Green Zone sites (which are heavily constrained in planning terms) with a sympathetic design allowed the Planning department to be able to approve the project under delegated powers.
The Project
The proposed traditional Jersey granite farm dwelling with a contemporary twist is located in a public area forming part of a commercial premise. The open public surroundings have driven an introvert design creating an intimate dwelling focused around an internal courtyard. The large glazed frontage with glazing spanning along two rooves allowing natural light to flood into the ground floor areas without losing privacy. The dwellings close relationship to the adjacent listed buildings limits the first floor fenestration facing out of the site and really focuses your views inwards.
