REFURBISHMENT
The Result
In 2021, MSPlanning were asked to help restore a grade 2 listed guest house. We provided heritage support as well as the planning and building control applications with on site architectural support throughout the refurbishment.
The Project
MSPlanning were brought on board to help restore and refurbish an existing Grade 2 listed guest house.
The guest house had eight bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. The goal was to sympathetically integrate ensuites to each bedroom, improve access and enhance the internal amenity spaces. Works also included restoration to the historic windows along the primary elevation replacing modern fireplaces with reclaimed historic fireplaces and repairing the walls with lime plaster and breathable natural insulation helping to reduce the buildings energy demand.
