Les Cotils Farm had previously relied on old traditional barns that were no longer fit for purpose. It had also relied on outside storage which was damaging to the Les Cotils Farm setting. To avoid this happening with the new shed, it was decided to site it remotely from this traditional farmstead, but within easy walking distance.
The shed was dug into the ground and a green profile cladding was used to form the exterior walls and roof. This reduced its impact on the landscape, blending it into the countryside setting. Additional planting, using indigenous species, supplemented existing roadside plants and further minimised the impact of the building.
The only practice in Jersey to bring Architects, Technicians, Planners and Historic Building advisors under one roof.
