Obtained planning approval against a very challenging policy regime for the Wayside site, including its location in the restrictive Shoreline Zone. The original application was refused by the Planning Committee, but we put forward a strong case at appeal. This resulted in the Minister overturning the decision. This was on the strength of the Planning Inspector’s strong recommendation to allow the appeal because of the quality of the design and the various public benefits proposed.
The proposal involves two new large contemporary designed dwellings and the replacement of an existing bungalow (Seabreeze) with a block of two apartments. The existing Wayside Café will be replaced with a new modern designed restaurant/delicatessen, with the flat above also being renovated.
The only practice in Jersey to bring designers, technicians, planners and historic building advisors under one roof.
